About us
An advisory firm with three offices and one way of working: explain things clearly, agree the fee before we start and never file anything without checking it.
MAEK
Employment, tax, accounting and immigration advice
MAEK is the trading name of Asesoría Laboral Fiscal y Contable MAEK, S.L. We handle employment, tax and accounting for companies and the self-employed, annual income tax returns and other paperwork for individuals, and we have dedicated teams for immigration and for appeals against the authorities.
We work from Malaga, Algeciras and Tetouan. Being on both sides of the Strait of Gibraltar means we can support people who live, work or run a business between Spain and Morocco, as well as Spanish companies that hire foreign workers.
Our story
MAEK started out in Malaga in 2022 as a professional practice offering accounting and tax services, founded by Mohamed Aakid El Kajouai. In February 2023 it became a limited company (sociedad limitada) to make room for a team that has kept growing and now numbers 10 professionals.
The Algeciras office and the Tetouan management centre followed Malaga. The next step is already set: to be present in all eight provinces of Andalusia before 2030.
What matters to us
Four principles we apply to every case
Clarity
We explain your situation without jargon: what your options are, what we recommend and why.
Rigour
Every answer is based on the law in force on the date of the events. If a case is unclear, we look into it before replying.
Deadlines first
Deadlines are tracked from day one. If one is about to expire, we tell you plainly.
Confidentiality
Your data is used only for your case and is handled in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Team
The people who handle your affairs
Each case is assigned to the person responsible for the relevant area, who is your point of contact from start to finish.
